The best coffee comes from nature

Our Story

TreeRich was born in Nicaragua, driven by a passion for nature and the protection of forests. Our founders—Liliana Chavarría, Georges Duriaux, Jean-Yves Duriaux, and Gino Zambrano—are deeply rooted in the country, intimately familiar with its coffee producers and the local coffee sector.

Recognizing that forest conservation requires sustainable economic solutions, they came together with a shared conviction: protect nature first, and use coffee as an economic lever to make this protection viable and profitable.

Liliana, an ornithologist and conservationist, brings deep knowledge of biodiversity; Georges, a coffee producer for 25 years, contributes hands-on experience in sustainable farming; Jean-Yves, an agronomist, focuses on regenerative agriculture; and Gino complements the team with his expertise in management and finance in the agricultural sector, ensuring TreeRich’s vision is both practical and sustainable.

Their roots, skills, sensibilities, and passion converged to create TreeRich, supported by a dedicated local team, with the belief that protecting nature can go hand in hand with economic development and quality for all.

Quality

We collaborate with producers driven by quality and innovation: they strive to improve their coffees, experiment with new processes, ensure lot-by-lot traceability, and fully enter the world of specialty coffee, adding value to their work and unique know-how.

Social impact

For us, the human aspect is essential: we visit farms to discuss, understand their needs, and build long-term relationships. The goal is to establish partnerships based on trust, where each year we can bring more value and improvements.

We also believe in community: creating a network of like-minded producers who can share experiences, support each other in their projects, and strengthen the positive impact of their practices is at the heart of our approach.

Sustainability

We select farms committed to protecting biodiversity, using agroforestry systems, organic practices, and, in most cases, Rainforest Alliance certification.

These producers also develop conservation and social initiatives, demonstrating a genuine commitment to their land and communities.
